| Fremont Older & Hunter's Point |
 |
Hunters Point is in Fremont Older Reserve, just west
of
Cupertino. The point is a mere 500 feet above the
valley floor, yet
it offers some of the best views,
seeing the floor from Palo Alto to
Fremont to Almaden
Valley. Also visible are the peaks Tamalpais,
Diablo,
Umunhum, Hamilton, and the Skyline Ridge. Santa Clara
Valley's landmarks are clearly visible, including the
tower
at Stanford University, the hangars at Moffet
Field, the
Shorline Amphatheater tents, the Pruneyard
Towers in Campbell,
and downtown San Jose. Almost at
the base of the hill are several
grade schools and De
Anza College, of which the parking structure
and Flint
Center are visible. Standing on the Point, you have a
clear view down Prospect Road and Highway 85. In the
foothills
of Los Gatos a sliver is visible between the
trees; this is the
water treatment plant. Hunters
Point is short .4 mile uphill hike
from the Regnart
Road entrance of Fremont Older.
