None of knew there was anyway to get to the other side
of Mount
Hamilton until relatively recently and,
because we like to waste
gas and take some pictures
along the way, we went. We left later
than intended,
and one car *ahem* missed the turnoff, so we were
going uphill about 2 hours later than originally
intended. The
road up was poor quality and slow,
especially with that damned
Cherokee in front of us.
The way down the other side was all smooth
pavement
and was (relatively) wide, but made my brakes warmer
than I'd like them to be. I also found out my tires
cannot handle
braking and cornering forces at the same
time. On the other side,
we saw two cars, a bunch of
cattle guards, and a reasonably cool
bridge over a
creek. Then we had dinner at The Junction Cafe. We
were first greeted by a loud "YAH-HOOO!" before we
even went
inside of it. I'd go into further detail,
but that pretty much
describes that place. Then we
simply drove home via Livermore in
an attempt to get
one of the Matts home by nine.
